Prepare an Irish film finance plan

A practical guide and editable EUR workbook for early planning around Section 481, funding research and finance sources. The guide discusses enhanced treatments; the calculator uses one rate and does not model mixed VFX uplift scenarios.

Who this pack helps

For producers exploring an Irish production finance plan who need a working model for early assumptions. Keep proposed finance separate from confirmed commitments.

What you receive

One ZIP file: one editable Excel workbook, four PDFs totalling 23 pages, and a Start Here text file.

  • Ireland Film Finance Planner (.xlsx): Ireland Calculator, Soft Money Directory and Finance Plan sheets.
  • Pack Usage Notes (PDF, 4 pages): instructions for the supplied files, inputs, formulas and checks.
  • Financing Film in Ireland Guide (PDF, 2 pages).
  • Product Licence and Disclaimer (PDF, 2 pages).
  • Professional Guide to Filmmaking (PDF, 15 pages): by Chris Patterson, covering development through delivery, with selected experience, credits and honours.

How to use it

  1. Download and extract the ZIP.
  2. Read the Start Here file, Pack Usage Notes and licence.
  3. Save a dated working copy, then open the workbook in Microsoft Excel and the PDFs in a PDF reader.

The workbook is a planning model, not an eligibility assessment or a promise of committed finance. It does not model every cap, enhanced VFX treatment, tax adjustment or payment condition. Treat the example as illustrative. Check current Section 481 rules, fund terms, deadlines and eligibility with official sources and your production accountant before relying on them.

This guide and workbook are also included in the UK & Ireland Film Finance & Co-Production Pack. If you choose that combined pack, you do not need to buy this one separately.

Microsoft Excel is required for the editable workbook. No physical item is supplied. Product use is subject to the included licence; statutory consumer rights are unaffected. General production guidance only, not legal, tax, accounting, investment or safety advice. Seek independent professional advice before relying on these materials.
